What is SHIP and it’s benefits?

    The Sacred Heart Incentive Program, also known as SHIP, allows families to purchase certificates from grocery and retail stores, restaurants and other miscellaneous vendors through Sacred Heart School.  The merchants/vendors sell the certificates at a discount to Sacred Heart School.  Sacred Heart School sells the certificates at face value to participants and then deposits the difference into an account for each participant to be used for tuition reduction for the following year.  Sacred Heart School has determined the primary purpose of this program is to provide tuition relief for our school families.  It has been the experience of other Catholic and parochial school families that the benefit of this program can be very significant. 

How does SHIP work?

    Each vendor establishes the discounted percentage at which they will sell the certificates to Sacred Heart School.

    Example: Red Lobster gives 8%.If you order $100 in Red Lobster gift certificates, you will receive an $8.00 tuition credit.

    Participants receive an order form that lists all the merchants/vendors and the amount each certificate is valued.  Cash, check or money order payable to SHIP, must accompany the order form.  Orders can be turned into the rectory during regular business hours.  Orders are placed through Great Lakes Scrip Center first thing Monday morning and certificates are delivered via UPS to Sacred Heart School on Wednesday afternoon.  Certificates are then sorted and available for pick up.

Who can participate?

    Enrollment is open to all Sacred Heart parish and school families.  Although you may purchase certificates for other people, only checks from Sacred Heart School/Parish families will be accepted.  You must fill out an enrollment form and designate the account to be credited. 

Credits:

    Credits accumulate from July 1 - June 30 of each year.  All participating families will receive a credit slip at the end of June.  All credits will be credited to the appropriate tuition account for the following school year.

    The purpose of the Sacred Heart Incentive Program is to provide Sacred Heart School families the opportunity to reduce their annual tuition.  Each listed merchant/vendor has agreed to donate a portion of each certificate back to Sacred Heart School, which can then be used as a credit to a specified tuition account.

      Sacred Heart School will be receiving 1% of all certificate sales to provide for program operating expenses.  Due to this, SHIP has to be designated as a fundraiser.

      Any parish or school family may enroll, however, Sacred Heart School reserves the right to refuse any participant’s payment due to past difficulties in processing of participant payments.

     All orders must be dropped off at the rectory or school office during regular business hours.  Certificates may be picked up at the rectory during regular business hours, unless prior arrangements are made.  Students of participating families may bring order forms with payment to school.  However, no certificates will be issued to students, unless specified on enrollment form.  If you specify, we will put your certificates in your child’s mailbox or backpack.

      Checks written for SHIP certificates must be made out to SHIP and in the full amount of the order.  If there is a discrepancy in the amount of the check, an attempt will be made to contact the person who signed the check.  If that person cannot be reached, the order will not be placed until the discrepancy has been resolved.

      All SHIP monies will be credited to tuition accounts for the following year.  Participating families may continue to save for tuition for additional years.  However, no money will be refunded should a family choose to withdraw their student from Sacred Heart School.

 Sacred Heart School reserves the right to terminate SHIP at any time.

    Sacred Heart School reserves the right to change the General Policies at any time.

Sacred Heart School is not liable for lost or missing certificates.

Why I participate in the SHIP program:

 From the parent of a 3rd & 5th grader:

    We have prescriptions filled every month and because Hudson Pharmacy participates in the SHIP program, this allows me to receive tuition credit for basic monthly bills.  I also purchase gift certificates to use as gifts for family and friends.

From a Church Parishioner:

    I use SHIP because of it's convenience and because it gives back to Sacred Heart.  There is a wide variety of companies taking part, so I can always find the gift cards I need.  I am going to buy the cards anyway, and it is a bonus that Sacred Heart can benefit from it.

 From the parent of a 2nd & 4th grader:

    I use SHIP my for groceries at Bob’s Market House, prescriptions at Hudson Pharmacy and Wendy’s gift certificates – those come in real handy.  We save $100-$200 on tuition a year by using the SHIP              program.

 From a Church Parishioner:

    I use the program to help our parish. I get SHIP for Bob's Market House.  A great way to use the certificates is to give them to someone in need or as a gift.

    I shop a lot at JCPenney.  You can use the SHIP certificates to pay on your JCPenney Credit Card!
