Korean Conflict, June 25, 1950-January 31, 1955

Viet Nam War, February 28, 1961-May 7, 1975

Grenada/Lebanon, August 24, 1982-July 31,1984

Panamerica, December 20, 1989-January 31, 1990

Desert Storm/Desert Shield, August 20, 1990-Cessation of hostilities

 

AMVETS Membership Requirements

    Any person who served or is currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America at any time after Sept. 15, 1940, is eligible for regular membership in AMVETS, provided such service-when terminated by discharge or release from active duty-is by honorable discharge, honorable separation or general discharge under honorable conditions. Any American citizen, as an American citizen, who served in the Armed Forces of an Allied nation of the United States at any time after Sept. 15, 1940, and before May 8, 1975, is eligible for regular membership in AMVETS, provided such service-when terminated by discharge or release from active duty-is by honorable discharge or honorable separation. No person who is a member of, or who advocates the principles of, any organization believing in, or working for the overthrow of the United States government by force, and no American citizen or permanent resident alien in the United States, one of its territories, possessions or the District of Columbia who refuses to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States shall be privileged to become, or continue to be, a member of this organization. All United States reservists and national guardsmen who are now serving, or have been honorably discharged since Sept. 15, 1940, are eligible for regular membership in AMVETS, provided such service-when terminated by discharge or release is by honorable discharge

 

Who is Eligible to Join the DAV?

    Any man or woman, who was wounded, gassed, injured or disabled in the line of duty during time of war, while in the service of either the military or naval forces of the United States of America, and who has not been dishonorably discharged or separated from such service, or who may still be in active service in the armed forces of the United States of America is eligible for membership in the Disabled American Veterans. Others who are disabled while serving with any of the armed forces of any nations associated with the United States of America as allies during any of its war periods, who are American citizens and who are honorably discharged, are also eligible.

 

Marine Corps League Membership Requirements

    To have served as a U.S. Marine for more than 90 days, that the character of my service has been honorable, and if discharged, I am in receipt of an honorable discharge.

 

Vietnam Veterans of America membership Requirements

    All honoraby discharged Vietnam Veterans between Aug. 5, 1964 to May 7, 1975.
